Meet our psychologists
Shayne Horsman
Shayne is a compassionate clinical psychologist with 15+ years of experience working with adults facing a wide range of life’s challenges. She has trained in a variety of different evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and she is an integrative therapist.
Her approach is deeply rooted in psychodynamic tradition, and she is particularly interested in helping her clients explore how earlier relationships and emotional experiences influence them in the present. Shayne offers an opportunity to gain an understanding of the conflicts and early emotional learning that are often at the root of distressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and unhelpful relationship patterns. Her goal is to work together to not only reduce current symptoms of psychological unease, but to also achieve freedom from old patterns that restrict self-compassion, personal growth, and meaningful connection with others.
Mark Horsman
Mark is a clinical psychologist working with clients to overcome anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma. Mark has extensive training in various evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioural therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.
Mark believes that people who have made the first step to start a therapeutic process want to make meaningful changes. However, people often struggle to find ways to overcome old obstacles and challenges to make the desired changes for personal growth and development. Mark considers that each client is unique, tailoring therapy to the individual needs of everyone he works with. He views the therapy process as a collaborative and active space and believes that therapy is not just about talking and skill building, but also about experiencing emotions in the moment and learning how these shape our thoughts, behaviours, and experiences. Mark’s focus is to work with clients to achieve a greater sense of self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to cope with the challenges of life.
